The Best Yorkshire Wedding Videographer

2022 - The busiest for years!

With the Pandemic behind us all, like pretty much everyone in the Wedding Industry, 2022 was busy for us as Yorkshire Wedding Videographers.

Couples who had cancelled their 2020 wedding date had moved to 2021, some further moved the date when it became clear 2021 also had some restrictions. Others who had 2021 as their year to marry had moved to the following year (2022) and then there were those who had only ever planned for 2022. All that resulted in a very busy year for everyone. We needed it though, having had many months with no weddings and further months with restricted weddings. We needed to get back to filming weddings badly - if not financial, for sanity and the pure joy of filming a wedding.

Amy and Charlie had Space Hopper races at their Marque wedding this Summer.

Like many years, 2022 gave us plenty of new wedding venues. From, perhaps the closest new venue to home, to the furthest we have travelled. We kicked the year off at the Old Swan in Harrogate. Made famous by Agatha Christe's time there when she 'disappeared' and was later found in Harrogate. This visit was the first of two there this year. We headed to Newton Hall, Northumberland in early September. A formal manor type house, with some interesting decor and touches in the extended parts added for weddings. The couple, with their dog Winnie in attendance for the day had a slight rock/edgy/quirky vibe. Their love of Metal music, Doc Martin Bridal shoes, vibrant orange-red hair was a day we enjoyed and that made the long travel time very much worth every mile.

The weather for every single wedding this year did us proud. Whilst we did see some rain and even hailstones at the first wedding, on each occasion is happened briefly and at a time when it had little to no impact on proceedings; during the Ceremony or Wedding Breakfast and Speeches. Most weddings had sunshine, lots of sunshine in fact and given we had three outdoor marque weddings in families gardens this Summer this made things perfect.

Pepper Arden was another new venue, in fact it's actually a new wedding venue. Located a short drive up the A1 from us, this old Hall has recently been given a decor overhaul by the owner (through lockdown) to turn it into a lovely location with a touch of quirky decor and detail too. Quirky seem to be a thing these days and we are fans. I was afforded a tour of the venue months before the wedding by the owner Richard. He told me all about the work he had undertaken and plans for the future. Amy and James wedding had some special moments and details that were unique to their style. Their cake was white with big cone style spikes all over (and tasted amazing too). They sang with their band, had a song written about them and sung for them in the Ceremony in a 1960 style. Leather jacket for the Bride and a Muscle car too - so much going on and such lovely guests too.

Other highlights from our wedding video filming this year were, and in no particular order... Amy and Charlies guests holding Space Hoppers races at their garden wedding. Charlie also holds the record for the shortest Groom Speech, made funnier by the fact that he was prompted what to say by the wedding coordinator. The wedding for Sophie and Sandi at Goldsborough Hall is also a stand out memory. A day filled from start to finish with so, so much laughter and tears. Sandi actually mocked sophie all day with hankies for her tears, each with a message sewn into them. A TV Celebrity guest Ring Bearer, every speech a tear, it was such an emotion and fun day for a beautiful couple.

The longest Father of the Brides Speech where the Bride and heckeld her Dad to finish his one-man comdey routine of a speech was also really amusing. Back again to Goldsborough Hall in September gave us a colourful change of outfits to an India vibe for the Bride and Groom in the evening. Finally worth mentioning was the final wedding of the Summer. Another Marque in the garden, the occasions was very special; the men in Saville Row Morning Suits, a magnificent Church where the Brides ancestors and family had attended regularly for many generations. The Ceremony was conducted by the Grooms Father and with a Descent Choir the Hymns and songs made the hairs stand up on your neck.

Another beautiful location was The Parlour at Blagdon Nestled between the A1 and another road, it seems a strange location, but the trees create a quiet santuary. It was a blazing hot day there and afforded us an outdoor First Dance and some incredible Couples shots at the nearby Northumberlandia.

Bowcliffe Hall, The Parsonage and Rockliffe Hall were also venues we filmed Yorkshire wedding videos at for the first time in 2022.

We still have a couple of wedding videos to film before the end of the year, but thankfully we now have a little break - perfect to catch up on editing. 2023 Bookings are going up well, and thankfully at a more 'normal' capacity and we are close to closing the books on bookings.
