Herding Hill Farm - Company Marryoke

Herding Hill Farm is a camping, Caravan and Glamping site located in Northumberland. This Awarding winning site contacted Red Lime with a view to discussing the production of a new company promotional video.

Early one sunny summers morning with an appointment made, I headed North to meet Steve; the owner of the site. Located on top of the hillside overlooking Haltwhislte and on the edge of the stunning Northumberland National Park.

Steve and his family moved from Leeds in 2010 to, as they put it 'escape the rat race'. They always liked the idea of owning a camp site and on finding this empty field in a stunning location they had found the start of their dream.

Step forward 6 years and the site is unrecognisable. 17 Wooden Wigwams, some with their own Hot Tubs, pitches for caravans, tent and motor homes. Site-wide WiFi, the list goes on. But Steve was not content with just offering what others sites do, so Herding Hill also now boasts it own on site Pizza oven to supply piping hot pizza to your door - all courtesy of the golf cart delivery service. They have an on-site Sauna, luxury bathrooms with baths. Lotus Belle Tents and Canvas Wigwams and even a large holiday chalet with access for wheelchairs. Children can enjoy the playground with wooden fort and a farm and its animals.

The local amenities are second to none too. Located in a Dark Sky area, it's a photographers dream, add to that Hadrian's Wall, and may other spectacular historic places, outdoor swimming pool the area is not short of anything.

Steve wanted a promotional video, but not an ordinal one. The site philosophy is driven to ensuing the guests have the best time possible and that the staff and service they receive is second to none. With this in mind, Steve wanted a fun video, He liked our Wedding Marryoke videos and wondered if just such a video would work for a company and that is where the conversation went.

About a month later, we headed back to Herding Hill ready for a day of filming. The song chosen by Steve was ideal and the weather was perfect.

It seemed like a tall order when we arrived. Whilst filming the shots of the site were straight forward, the video required getting as many of the sites visitors to agree to appear on camera miming along to the song. Several hours soon passed and that initial concern was well and truly gone. The holiday makers were brilliant and more than happy to join in the fun - well some bribery for free Pizza was employed.

As always, we we like to turn things around quickly but also make a brilliant job, so Steve had the first copy to rvew within a week. Over the next few weeks, Steve supplied footage from his drone and some other clips which we found space for and the job was done.
